QA Specialist

Ultra ATS specializes in designing, manufacturing, and supporting tactical command and control systems, subsystems, and products for defense and homeland security applications worldwide. We have delivered systems to all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and many of our Allied and Coalition partners. Our systems and personnel have supported every major conflict since our founding in 1987.

We are currently recruiting for a QA Specialist which will be based at our Corporate headquarters in Austin, TX and will be responsible for establishing, updating and maintaining all associated documentation, with particular attention to those QA/QC activities related to software development projects. Further duties include: conducting process and product audits, tests and inspections and document results; communicating quality issues and reports to Management; understanding and facilitating process improvement initiatives using the Software Engineering InstituteŐs CMMI Guidelines and ISO 90001:2008.

MUST BE A US CITIZEN WITH A CURRENT DOD SECURITY CLEARANCE OR THE ABILILTY TO OBTAIN ONE.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of 2 years experience or 5 years of work-related experience
  • 3-5 years experience in Quality Assurance performing software process and product quality audits and supporting process improvement initiatives
  • Change management experience and software or product development life cycle knowledge specifically in an Agile development and/or Lean Manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of CMMI and ISO 9001:2008
  • Excellent customer communication /interaction and presentation skills
  • Strong written communication skills to accurately describe technical processes/requirements
  • Self-directed with strong problem solving skills, process set-up and program launch skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel with Database experience a plus
