Supply Chain Sustainability
Eliminating Power Shortages Worldwide
With Mr. John Penver

Given a few of the geological and political events many companies experienced last year, supply chain sustainability becomes an important issue in maintaining production lines for manufacturers and product flow for service industries. We take it for granted that the lights are always on and power is a cheap and continuous resource. With supply organizations going off-shore for an increasingly larger share of the supply base, inherent infrastructures can oftentimes fall short of expected demand. For anyone who has experienced an interrupted flow of materials and the problems and difficulties that ensue, strategic planning and upstream contingencies can prevent or quickly mitigate the overall effect.
An Austin manufacturing company, Active Power, Inc. is building and exporting its solutions for power shortages all over the world at a state-of-the-art, ISO 9001:2000 registered manufacturing center. A major factor of their success has been the international presence of its supply chain operations and staff support of the production and marketing activities of the company.
Our presenter, Mr. John Penver will discuss how uninterrupted power not only provides cost savings, but also becomes of vital importance to manufacturing firms, hospitals, government offices, first responders, financial organizations, call centers and hundreds of other commercial organizations.
Mr. Penver, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance oversees all accounting, finance, treasury, investor relations, human resources and IT operations of Active Power. Prior to joining Active Power, Mr. Penver served as Chief Financial Officer or Vice President of Finance for a number of public and private technology and manufacturing-based organizations. Mr. Penver also had 12 years of audit experience with the international accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche LLP in both the U.S. and Australia. Mr. Penver is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Accountant, and holds a Bachelor of Business in Accounting from Monash University in Australia and an M.B.A. from Santa Clara University in California.
